JF2011Heralding the grand celebrations for Jakarta’s 484th Anniversary this year which falls on 22 June, is the 44th Jakarta Fair 2011, opening on 8thJune, lasting one whole month until the 10th July 2011.

Held at the sprawling Jakarta International Exhibition Center , Jakarta Fair is participated by no less than 2,750 corporations, 27 provinces and hundreds of small and medium scale business enterprises. The biggest exhibition, entertainment and business promotion event in Indonesia, Jakarta Fair is scheduled to be officially opened by Indonesia’s President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

As venue for business marketing and promotional activities, exhibitions, cultural performances, Pasar malam (or night market) and music festival, the Jakarta Fair 2011 opens daily from 15.30 to 22.00 hrs on weekdays, and from 10.00 to 23.00 hrs western Indonesia Time on weekends.

A vast selection of high quality products from various levels of businesses will be displayed and offered in the hundreds of booths during the entire month. Organizers have divided the Exhibition into 13 zones in several halls, as follows: Hall A features furniture and automotives; in Hall B are the Jakarta Pavilion along with that of 27 other provinces; Hall B3 features garments and accessories; Hall C has booths of district governments and small businesses; Hall D features banking, home appliances, electronics, etc; Hall D3 is for cellular phones, herbal products and kids entertainment zone; next is the special open space exhibition area at Plaza GPN (Gedung Pusat Niaga) for cars and motorbikes. There will also be an expo called the Gambir Expo for branded fashion items, and food courts to cater for hungry and thirsty visitors, with a property and travel Expo at Hall E.

Among Indonesia’s 33 Provinces confirmed to participate are: Jakarta, South Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, Aceh, Jambi, Central Sulawesi, West Kalimantan, Maluku, South Sumatera, West Java, Bangka Belitung, Bali, East Nusa Tenggara, and more.

On the grand stage will appear many top bands in Indonesian Music, including: Superman is Dead, Iwan Fals, ST 12, Tony Q, Boomerang, Gigi, Sheila on 7, The Changcuters, TRIAD, Dewa, Andra & the Backbone, Pas Band, The Upstairs, Maliq&D essential, Netral, Slank, Tipe-ex, Kotak, Afgan, Smash, Geisha, Ungu, Nidji, Godbless and Naif.

The Jakarta International Exhbition Center where the Jakarta Fair is held, stands on the former Jakarta Kemayoran airport and covers a total area of 44 hectares, and comes complete with various facilities including large parking lots that can accommodate more than 9,000 cars and 25,000 motorbikes, a mosque and several mushallas (praying rooms), and more than 63 toilets.

For more than a month, the capital Jakarta will celebrate its anniversary in the grandest style. As the biggest fair in the country, Jakakarta Fair 2011 is surely something you cannot afford to miss.
